@zareleonis I guess that’s where we differ. I couldn’t ever stand if there wasnt that continuity with the OT. It would drive me crazy lol

@sturwurstrash not so much eschewing any continuity but…. i guess i can believe the idea that it’s a huge galaxy and just cos theyre not at luke’s critical moments and their paths don’t cross as far as we know doesn’t mean theyre doing /NOTHING/   

i mean yeah, maybe their mere presence in the galaxy DOES undermine the sheer gravity of luke coming into the world but……. if that’s the case maybe they shouldn’t exist at all. (now THAT’S a hot take, sorry ;P)

it’s difficult to feel satisfied with an ending that feels so heavily governed by the need to get them out of the way.  it doesn’t really feel like that does them much justice.
