why do people complain that thrawn loses in rebels when pretty much all of his biggest losses in the show we’re cos his subordinates didn’t follow his explicit instructions? which is exactly how it was in star wars: thrawn??

and i thought that book also established the idea that for all he DOES know and understand, there ARE things that fall well beyond his scope – another key reason for his downfall in rebels.

^^^ but also in what way did he lose on Atollon? The Phoenix squad and that base where basically destroyed, they lost most of that fleet. Only the Ghost Crew and a few others escaped really. Commander Sato died it was a major LOSS for the rebels.

oh he completely WRECKED them on atollon, yes, but for him ezra and friends escaping (+kallus getting away) AND taking out a couple huge ships is still a pretty big loss, compared with what he wanted to achieve. i don’t think thrawn could walk away from all that feeling like it was the victory he wanted.
