god the duality of thrawn, from his point of view, genuinely respecting hera and absolutely regarding her as a worthy adversary who he cannot underestimate vs the way he treats her when he has her at his mercy (hera’s heroes, jedi night) betraying that his respect ultimately doesn’t go very far is wicked.

he talks to hera like he knows her, and reduces her to every bit of trauma she’s ever been through, but can’t seem to grasp that there’s anything more to her. or if he does, he doesn’t particularly care about it cos he can’t use it to make her feel small. it’s completely nasty but also such a neat dynamic to watch play out
