my contention is IF the rebels take back lothal, they can attend to de-commissioning the factory and either destroying or requisitioning the fuel for the rebellion AFTER, once they have control of the planet.
so basically my question is, how does the continued presence of the fuel depot prevent any of what ezra and his allies do in the final two episodes to take back lothal?
It doesn’t truly affect what they did in the episodes after that. But from the rebellions pov at the time of sending Hera to destroy it, it was a major treat to them. They didn’t know they’d be liberating Lothal a couple of days later.
The idea was: destroy factory -> bring hope to lothal + get rid of enemies tactical advantage.
For the liberation of Lothal it wasn’t all that important, but for the plan that proceeded the plan of “let’s conquer an entire planet lol” it was a win
i totally get what you’re saying about why the rebellion viewed it as extremely important. i agree.
my problem is that i’m then told kanan absolutely had to die, specifically to take out the factory/fuel depot, but ultimately it barely affects what happens afterwards at all. it doesn’t make sense and doesnt do kanan just ice at all 😦
