ahhh i’m guessing gregor was got in the heart? still though i’m mad smh.. and yeah it’s so bad like, and like, didn’t the show try to paint wolffe in a bad light in his first appearance when he called the empire? like obviously i hate the empire but he was in the right, he was just trying to help himself rex and gregor, he didn’t want to be involved.. so then to get them all involved just isn’t fair on them. and yeah they made rex seem really… nostalgic and happy about the whole war?? and made

him always talk so highly about the jedi and it was just really bad. idk i have a LOT of problems with how the clones were handled in rebels, and the show’s lack of showing their feelings about things is a big one

@ahsokatano yeaaaahh.  it wasnt exactly the best decision by wolffe cos if all THREE of them werent prepared to hand ezra and co. to the empire then it accomplishes the opposite of what he wanted.  but like you said, wolffe just wanted to keep them safe and getting involved with wanted jedi and even just letting them leave freely puts a huge target on their back.  wolffe wanted NOTHING to do with it.  if he and gregor are choosing to fight, we need to know WHY.  could be as simple as rex asked them, but you gotta gimme SOMETHING

i think with rex, rebels kinda let THE VIEWERS/WRITERS’ nostalgia for the clone wars THE SHOW dictate a lot of the feelings rex expressed about the actual war.

it makes sense for rex to have some weird mixed feelings about the clone wars cos as terrible as it all was, it was a life where he was surrounded by hundreds of clones who are his FAMILY every day.  once he’s lost all but two of them? i can understand nostalgia for things that remind him of that, but its DEFINITELY not a pure and happy type of nostalgia.

and rex’s feelings towards the jedi…..  i get that the jedi HE served under are people he loves dearly.  but we can have rex ultimately care about them for his own reasons AND let him have negative feelings about how Fucked Up it is for the jedi (ALL of them!) to accept the role as commanding officers to soldiers who have ZERO choice in the matter.  it’s not mutually exclusive AT ALL!!!!!  REX IS ALLOWED TO HAVE COMPLEX FEELINGS ABOUT THIS AND FEEL SOME RESENTMENT.

i’m not sure if they just didn’t want to confront that topic?  or didn’t know how to balance it with how they dealt with kanan’s trauma wrt order 66? and also balance it with the fact that rex really does love ahsoka, anakin?  but it’s not cool that rebels just didn’t address it AT ALL, even tho the show covered the jedi-clone relationship at length.

also it fucking sucks that rebels had rex basically suggest clones made some kind of CHOICE to kill a bunch of jedi that HE didnt, when they all fucking had a chip in their head that HE was just lucky enough to know about it somehow.  no idea what he saw of order 66, but rex saw with his own eyes that tup went full on dr jekyll and mr hyde when his chip went haywire and how FREAKED OUT tup was about it.  WHY would rex then imply it was a choice, when he knows its just another way clones were denied any agency whatsoever about how they live??  it’s fucking absurd!!
