anyways i REALLY REALLY recommend the join the resistance books, they’re ridiculously fun and sweet and i love all the characters so much, and there’s a lot of really fun cameos in it.
they’re pretty goofy, have quite a bit of breaking the fourth wall and are definitely for younger audiences but i think they’re SUPER FUN and charming books. give em a try!!
I second this recomendation
I didn’t even know they’re were Resistance books. What’s the timeline?
There are! There’s an ongoing Middle Grade series by Ben Acker and Ben Blacker called Join the Resistance. They’re a little bit goofy, but they are super cute. The first two books fit into the timeline just before TFA, and then the most recent third book is during the final act of TFA.
Highlights include: a really fun cast, some ambiguously Force Sensitive kids, General Leia being good with kids, and Poe Dameron officiating a wedding (which totally means that he could officiate Finn and Rey’s wedding).
Awww that’s sweet.
I’m not against Resistance anymore after I found it it’s target audience is for kids. I’m also kind of happy Finn and Rey won’t be in it. They’re story is too serious for that type of audience and it’s too dark to be taken lightly.
are there any parts of the books online somewhere?
i’d love it if you try your library first! i don’t think too many people know about these books and the authors and illustrator deserve support ^___^
if your library has hoopla you should be able to get all three right away!! you might need to search the authors’ names or just the subtitle (escape from vodran and attack on starkiller base) to find the 2nd and 3rd books, i remember they didn’t come up for me when i searched join the resistance
and just in case anyone is confused, these aren’t related to star wars resistance the animated series
