i can’t remember if you’ve checked out the star wars adventures comics or not but there’s a lovely little finn issue!!! we’re still so lacking in good finn content that explores him in depth but that issue was super sweet and nice to see a fun little story about my boy <3

i wish we got as much finn, slip and the gang stories as we do rey’s honestly kinda repetitive adventures on jakku

i havent really posted about star wars adventures here because i usually just read the paperbacks from the library when theyre out, and they dont come out very often.

but all the idw comics stuff is ADORABLE. it was the one about mattis that turned me onto the join the resistance books i was like who the heck is this boy!!!!!

between jason fry pandering to reylos and the way he writes women constantly being jealous and hostile with each other I can’t deal with him lmao which is a shame bc i really did enjoy the zare books :(

the fact he was at least big enough to admit in his servants of the empire author’s notes on tumblr that some of his ideas for merei and early drafts were ignorant and sexist sort of made me hope maybe he’d be willing to listen but. it’s been 6+ months of catering to reyIos that’s clearly not the case.

im picking up tales from vandor because im hoping it’s removed enough from all that bs that it’s still enjoyable but after the (predictable) disappointment of rose tico resistance fighter i’m not sure what to expect.

it sucks because i enjoy a lot of his work, i think he writes well, his enthusiasm for star wars is very apparent and i do appreciate people who are willing to engage with fans BUT, WELL. he engages with all the wrong people for all the wrong reasons.

i hope for any future replica journal books maybe someone else can write them? he’s done most of the movie tie ins, but michael kogge did poe dameron: flight log and daniel wallace did the star wars rebels ones and i liked those a lot.
