this is the baseball equivalent of thrawn doing every single damn thing he can to crush the rebels or whatever enemy the imperial navy’s tasked him with, and his supporting cast still doing their damnedest to find a way to sabotage his efforts
incidentally there is a Real Canon star wars character named after jake degrom and also his teammate zack wheeler because SOMEONE (@jasonfry) is a massive mets fan and not above showing it through fun easter eggs in his books ;P
