I just finished a big re-read of every Marvel Star Wars comic released since 2014 to last week, and I noticed something. Of all the female Imperials to appear in more than one issue, all of them are dead except for Tolvan. I’m assuming it’s just a coincidence, but there isn’t some dictat from Lucasfilm demanding female Imperials be killed off or something lol? Like the attrition rate must be 95%

I haven’t actually done the read through, so I can’t argue with the figures, but I will say that it’s a deadly universe for bad guys. How many Imperials survived A NEW HOPE, y’know? 

I’ll admit, it is on my mind when I’m introducing new Imperial characters into the canon. That I know they’re likely going to have to be killed pretty quickly does make me question how to cast them a little more than I would in (say) a Marvel book.

Tolvan is an obvious exception in that she was created with a long term purpose in mind.
