this was really really hard to watch :’(

it’s something about maul taking a group of people and a place that ezra feels safe in without question and corrupting it that makes it so horrible.

ezra’s not afraid of maul for his own sake. he knows very well maul will not dare hurt him if he can avoid it. but maul wouldn’t hesitate a second to hurt his friends to get to ezra. and seeing maul among his friends – worse, not knowing where he’ll show up next or when he’ll strike – is completely terrifying for ezra.

god my chest hurts this was so good

god kanan is so good in this episode. it’s nothing too flashy, just a firm supportive presence to rex as a friend, and doing what he can to help ezra understand.

kanan knows all too well what rex is going through – it was rex after all, who really helped kanan find peace with what happened to him in the clone wars. it’s touching to see kanan do the same for rex :’)
