when ezra has his vision that old jho is in trouble kanan tells him “we’ve talked about this ezra. it’s just your anxiety about lothal.”

WHICH MEANS ezra has nightmares about lothal regularly and kanan has helped him through them 😿 and that ezra has anxiety after all he’s been through (not surprising :c)

what gets things REALLY interesting is that there’s faint barking and howling and growling in the background while ezra sees this vision/echo. if ezra saw or heard anything else, it’s overshadowed by his worries for old jho and ryder. BUT the implication there could be more to his dream, some vague hint to the future, that ezra didn’t even comprehend is pretty neat.

this whole experience with saw gives ezra the final resolve that he WILL do what he can to save lothal. doesn’t matter what the rebellion or mon mothma or even his friends have to say about it. ezra swore to protect lothal and he’s going to do that, but he’s going to do it HIS WAY.

he doesn’t want to live like saw, full of regret and pain over a world he lost. but he doesn’t want to lose sight of the fact that the REASON he wants to save lothal is so his people can live happy lives, free from the chokehold of the empire.

I also like the detail that Saw respects Ezra more than Mon Mothma.

Whether they realize it or not, they have the same flaw in regards to the war: they think they have to do everything themselves. Mothma sees a thousand systems and is paralyzed because she can’t help them all, Saw sees a thousand systems and tries to help them all, which is doomed to failure. They just assume that these planets will not save themselves, that they need to be rescued all at once or not at all. Ezra on the other hand is focused on helping just one planet save itself, in the hopes that it’ll spread to other planets that will save themselves. It’s not selfish, just small-scale work that Saw and Mothma, and indeed the Empire, dismiss as too small to make a difference, even though it’s the small victories that will lead to the big one.

Ezra’s war isn’t Saw’s, and it’s not Mon Mothma’s. It’s the people right here, right now, that he can help, because someone has to.
