i love kanan and hera so much ;___;
:’( hera and kanan are just concerned parents who can’t handle seeing their kid hurting (and unwilling to ask them for help)
;_____; my poor baby :c thank u kanan for looking after him
everything about this hurts. how scared ezra is. zeb and kanan trying to help ezra after he faints. the way hera and kanan’s voices both sound completely helpless and out of their depth :((( i hate maul, man
this was really really hard to watch :’(
it’s something about maul taking a group of people and a place that ezra feels safe in without question and corrupting it that makes it so horrible.
ezra’s not afraid of maul for his own sake. he knows very well maul will not dare hurt him if he can avoid it. but maul wouldn’t hesitate a second to hurt his friends to get to ezra. and seeing maul among his friends – worse, not knowing where he’ll show up next or when he’ll strike – is completely terrifying for ezra.
alone with maul on dathomir: a walk in the park
maul among his friends on atollon: ezra’s worst nightmare
kanan immediately checking up on ezra as soon as he realizes something is wrong absolutely kills me ;____;
from the way kanan carries himself and the expression on his face, we can guess he’s reaching out with the force to get a better sense of ezra’s distress and to see if he can detect what (or who!) has ezra so shook up. i even think kanan could be reaching out with the force to calm ezra down, which they’ve done for each other in the past.
its neat how trials of the darksaber is 100% sabine focused no question but it still manages to say a LOT about kanan, ezra AND hera’s characters in the process. that’s good writing 🙂
@zareleonis Agreed. One of the many reasons why people love Trails of the Darksaber even if Sabine isn’t their favorite character is the writing in the entirety of the episode:
It manages to show Sabine’s past and reluctance to want to be apart of Mandalore again, her fear of seeing her family again, the family that abandoned her for the Empire.
It manages to show Kanan’s care and love for Sabine, fearing, not wanting her to get hurt by the Darksaber because she wasn’t ready and it also shows just how natural his bond with Ezra was/is (because he was Force Sensitive compared to Sabine who wasn’t) seeing it parallel his and Sabine’s. It also shows Kanan understanding that in order for Sabine to open up and accept this role, then he needs to give her a little tough love.
It shows Ezra’s being very understanding that training can difficult if you reluctantly do so in the first place, if you let that fear stop you from doing something you don’t want to do even though it’s the right thing to do.
Hera also understands where Sabine is coming from because again, she understands when family turns their back on you, as that’s exactly what her father did. She also understands that Sabine needs to open up about her past, to let go of her pumped up stubbornness and just grieve for the family that abandoned her.
:(((
AMAZING
