Reading that journal it’s really easy to tell why having someone who actually somewhat cared about about him for an hour was this sort of life-changing thing for Maul and why he was so obsessed with possessing it.

yeah you’re spot on!! it’s actually pretty neat how much of this pretty random journal book for kids from 1999 still fits in well with what we’ve got of maul today.

but then, pretty much any incarnation of maul and everything that touches upon his childhood depicts incredibly terrible abuse :C
